google hacking II

using the basic search techniques combined with Google's advanced operators, anyone can perform information-gathering and vulnerability-searching using Google. This technique is commonly referred to as Google hacking .

Site Mapping
To find every web page Google has crawled for a specific site, use the site: operator. Consider the following query:

site:http://www.microsoft.com microsoft
This query searches for the word microsoft, restricting the search to thehttp://www.microsoft.com web site. How many pages on the Microsoft web server contain the word microsoft? According to Google, all of them! Google searches not only the content of a page, but the title and URL as well. The word microsoft appears in the URL of every page on http://www.microsoft.com. With a single query, an attacker gains a rundown of every web page on a site cached by Google.

There are some exceptions to this rule. If a link on the Microsoft web page points back to the IP address of the Microsoft web server, Google will cache that page as belonging to the IP address, not the http://www.microsoft.com web server. In this special case, an attacker would simply alter the query, replacing the word microsoft with the IP address(es) of the Microsoft web server.

Configure Windows XP to Automatically Login

After downloading fixes from Microsoft Windows Update page or via Automatic Updates, you may notice that Windows XP no longer logs into your account automatically. This is caused by the .NET Framework Update from Microsoft. It creates an additional user account called ASP.NET, which you can see in the Control Panel User Accounts applet. But, don't need to remove this update or don't delete this account. You can still configure Windows XP to automatically login using these methods:

Method 1Click Start, Run and type CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2, and click Ok. Select the user account from the list (to which account you want to automatically logon). Uncheck Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer option, and click Ok. Type the user account password and complete the process.

For Windows XP Home, don't try to auto-login as the built-in Administrator, as you'll receive a restrictions error.

Method 2: Using TweakUIOpen TweakUI (Click Start, Programs, Powertoys for Windows XP). Expand the Logon branch, and click Autologon. Turn on the "Log on automatically at......" option, type your username and password, and click Ok.

google toips and tricks part I

Since the Google web interface is so easy to use, I won't describe the basic functionality of the google page. Instead, I'll focus on the various operators available:

Use the plus sign (+) to force a search for an overly common word. Use the minus sign (-) to exclude a term from a search. No space follows these signs.

To search for a phrase, supply the phrase surrounded by double quotes (" ").

A period (.) serves as a single-character wildcard.

An asterisk (*) represents any word—not the completion of a word, as is traditionally used.

Google advanced operators help refine searches. Advanced operators use a syntax such as the following:

operator:search_term
Notice that there's no space between the operator, the colon, and the search term.

The site: operator instructs Google to restrict a search to a specific web site or domain. The web site to search must be supplied after the colon.

The filetype: operator instructs Google to search only within the text of a particular type of file. The file type to search must be supplied after the colon. Don't include a period before the file extension.

The link: operator instructs Google to search within hyperlinks for a search term.

The cache: operator displays the version of a web page as it appeared when Google crawled the site. The URL of the site must be supplied after the colon.

The intitle: operator instructs Google to search for a term within the title of a document.

The inurl: operator instructs Google to search only within the URL (web address) of a document. The search term must follow the colon.

send free sms

I was searching for methods to send free sms for a long time...At last I found two sites.
1.cellebrum
I was actually tricked by a friend of mine. This is how it happened

One day i got an sms from a site called cellebrum saying jobinmartin your password is *******. I was amazed as I had not sent any request. After a few minutes,my friend came and said that is my password I accidently sent it to you.

So i gave him that password.
I grew suspicious of this incident, and went to the site to see that my friend had tricked me.
Now he could send messages to any mobile in my identity so that if he did any mischief I would be caught for it...

I had to find a way to get out of this tangle....how???

Internet Explorer tips PART I

Internet Explorer is the most widely used net browser in our place(some may disagree).Yet most people don't know to use IE keyboard shortcuts effectievly or don't use them. Some of the shortcuts that prove valuable in net surfing are described below.

1.Alt+Enter
If we want to type a domain name eg: www.yahoo.com it is easy. But if we want to type in so many domain names per day it will be a difficult job.
An easy way to do it is to use the Alt+Enter shortcut.Just type in the domain name as it is eg:www.yahoo.com is written as yahoo followed by Alt+enter.

yahoo+Alt+Enter=www.yahoo.com

2.Ctrl+A
If we have to select whole of the contents given in a webpage, just type in Ctrl+A.

3.F5
If we want to refresh/reload a page just press F5.

4.Esc

To stop the current job press Esc.

5.Backspace
If we want to go back to the previous page, press Backspace. It is same as the button BACK.

6.Ctrl+F
Opens a dialogue box,"Find on this page"...whatever you have to find type in there...If the desired word or number is in the page,IE will take you to that spot.

7.F11
Pressing F11 takes the IE browser window to full screen mode.On pressing F11 once more, the browser window returns to its original size.

These tips are frequently used by me...Using these shortcuts have greatly increased my browsing speed, may help you also.

More IE tips in the next post.

introduction

I discovered(learned how to use)the net when i was in 10th grade ie in the year 2000.
I began my net life by learning how to create an email id from our instructor(yahoo!!).I was very much afraid even to click the back button at that time.I showed my email id to my friends with great pride.Eventhough it was not a big feat to them,to me it was.....Next i visited our school site and was astonished.
In 2001 we took a computer at home.It was the turning point in my net life.I was desperate to learn new things from the net...At last it paid off and now i share with a little( it is a small little)pride what i learned from the net.As learning is an ongoing process I think this will be a never ending blog packed with varying ideas and concepts.
Share a part of your knowledge with by filling the comments and i will be a happy man.
